Election Issues: Gay Marriage

The Issue

There are many important issues being discussed during the current presidential elections.  This semester, we're going to be exploring the "election issues" that are most important to us.  We're starting by looking at Gay Marraige and Gay Rights, in general.

We wanted to consider this issue because we know that many people are afraid of homosexuals. Here are some reasons we think people are scared of homosexuals. One reason is that some people are scared because they think gay people might want to rape or to have some sort of sexual relation with them. We generally call this homophobia. Another reason is because of the religious beliefs of the church. Some churches say that God made a woman and a man not a man with a man or woman with woman. But when churches say this, it can divide the religious from the secular people
